recycled farm house: mysore
‘Recycling’ as a concept, refers both to the re-use of materials from previous uses as well as the design with the possibility of re-use at a later time. This would drive require attention to parameters such as modularity, systems of joinery and combination of materials, re-usability of materials and ease of dismantling.
This project re-used building components from various sources; wooden columns and beams, locks, door handles etc. Including Mangalore tiles for roof from a dismantled house with its wooden rafters. The stabilised mud block walls are left largely un-plastered.
